Ever find yourself in tight woods, navigating some technical trails that really test your skills? How about out on the track in the heat of summer? We thought so. While both situations test you as a rider, they severely test your machine as well. Enter the RLR Coolant Recovery Tank. A catch tank that allows your bike to heat up without dumping all of its coolant onto the ground, the RLR system is a cost effective way to keep your bike from overheating and a must have for any serious rider.
Keeping your bike cooled properly is paramount when it comes to engine longevity and performance—and that isn’t always an easy task. When you find yourself maneuvering through technical sections at slower speeds, there isn’t always enough air-flow through your radiators to keep your coolant from boiling over and it simply dumps out the overflow tube. It doesn’t take long to run your coolant dangerously low and risk overheating your engine, but there is a solution: The RLR Products Coolant Recovery Tank.
Using a simple system and easy-to-follow installation instructions, the RLR CRT provides a place for coolant that’s been boiled out of the radiator to be held, instead of being flushed out of the overflow. Once the radiator temperature drops, the coolant that was pushed into the CRT will be sucked back in and continue cooling your engine—rather than the bike getting even hotter and possibly burning the whole bike down.
The CRT easily mounts out of the way, inside a standard KTM air box and uses a length of high-temp rubber hose to attach in place of the standard overflow hose. It uses basic vacuum properties to allow the radiator to suck coolant back from the catch tank and into the cooling system.
The RLR Coolant Recover Tank sells for a meager $30.99—compared to a minimum of $250 if your bike overheats, needing a complete top-end rebuild—and is a must have product that will improve the performance and longevity of your machine.
